Volunteers/Students

At Ivybridge we believe that the involvement of parents and carers in children’s education is vital and we encourage active participation in many ways.

Some parents come to school to help with a variety of tasks such as ICT, art, cooking and especially reading, and usually work with individuals or small groups in classes. Other parents help when the children are taken on educational visits outside school. Please ask at the school office for more information.

What kind of activities might you be asked to do?

• Sharing books
• Working on the computer
• Playing games
• Making things
• Cooking
• Sewing
• Coming with us on visits
• Sometimes just being there is what is needed!

If you are a student needing work experience or you would like to work in school as a volunteer, you will need to be checked by the Disclosure & Barring Service (formally the Criminal Records Bureau), at no cost to you however.
